✨ A unique concert on April 14th will take place at 7.30 pm in a modern East London theatre at the heart of Hackney. Plunge into the exciting world of famous soundtracks from the legendary films about Agent 007 — in the holiday program: Billie Eilish, Adele, Nancy Sinatra, Chris Cornell, Shirley Bassey, John Barry and, of course, surprises.
The charging energy of the orchestra, magnificent author’s arrangements, mastery of performance — all this in the atmosphere of an ancient church’s romantic and mysterious hall!
The James Bond franchise has long become a classic of modern cinema. Even if you haven’t watched a single part of the Bond film, you still know its main character and have heard the soundtracks of the movies.
It is the longest-running film series in history; its plots, in one way or another, reflected essential events in the real world, be it energy crises or coups in Latin America, the Cold War or the death of the USSR. But the main thing, of course, was the charm and elegance of the unkillable agent 007.
The music changed along with Bond. In the sixties, it was crooners and pop singers; in the seventies, soft pop came (with a break for Paul McCartney); the second half of the eighties was new wave and soul; the nineties and the beginning of the 2000s were pop and alternative. Everything changed only when Daniel Craig became Bond: the music for the latest films about the spy is a tragic ballad with an orchestra.
The best people of their eras recorded songs for Bond: from McCartney to A-ha, from Garbage to Madonna. But many more celebrities were left behind. Blondie and Alice Cooper, Pet Shop Boys and Johnny Cash, Saint Etienne and Radiohead offered their songs for Bond films. Having been refused, many reworked them for their own albums.
